the starting point.

Extra order costs can include freight, duty, inspection, documentation or any other charge you want to normalize across suppliers. Divide the normalized order total by quantity to compare effective cost per unit.

When to use this tool

A quick comparison,
not a full sourcing review.

Use it when

You have two supplier prices in the same currency and want to account for MOQ plus a few known order-level costs before deciding which quote deserves deeper review.

Use another tool when

You also need Incoterms, lead time, duty, freight detail or several suppliers. The full Supplier Quote Comparison Tool is built for that broader decision.

Quick answers

Supplier price
comparison FAQ.

Why can the supplier with the lower unit price cost more?

MOQ and order-level charges can outweigh a small unit-price advantage. Comparing total order cost and effective cost per unit makes that difference visible.

What should I put under extra order costs?

Use costs that are known and comparable across both suppliers, such as freight, inspection, documentation, duty estimates or bank charges.

Should I compare quotes with different Incoterms here?

Only after normalizing them to a similar delivery basis. For FOB versus CIF specifically, use the FOB vs CIF Calculator first.
